For the past 12 years Tammy Mize, Judicial Assistant to the Honorable Steve Jones, has assisted the Salvation Army to adopt children from the ages of newborn to 15 years old so that they may receive Christmas gifts. Many of BBGA's attorneys participated again this year, as they have in years past, to assist Tammy is making this project a success. According to Tammy, thanks to the generosity this season of local attorneys, ACC Government employees, UGA staff, etc. we were able to help approximately 450 children out of 1300 receive gifts that might not have otherwise. "This is our way to give back to the community and those that may be less fortunate than ourselves", says Tammy, "I truly thank each and every person that adopted a child and wish them a very Blessed Holiday Season!"

Firm files lawsuits for women injured by Mentor Obtape vaginal sling 11/8/07
Blasingame, Burch, Garrard & Ashley, P.C. has filed multiple lawsuits on behalf of women injured by the Mentor Obtape vaginal sling. All of the plaintiffs in these lawsuits are women who were implanted with Mentor’s “ObTape” brand trans-obturator vaginal sling, marketed to urologists and gynecologists to cure female urinary stress incontinence. The firm presently represents more victims of the Mentor Obtape sling than any other law firm in the country.
The lawsuits filed by Blasingame, Burch, Garrard & Ashley, P.C. allege that the Mentor ObTape’s construction was defective and that it pushed into and through the vaginal wall causing tearing and cutting, and finally, severe erosion of the vaginal tissues. Symptoms associated with this erosion began manifesting months after the device was surgically implanted and included severe and chronic pain and infection.
